Wink's phonics curriculum starts with Step 1 (26 letters of the alphabet), progresses to Step 2 (short and long vowels), Step 3 (consonant blends and digraphs), and Step 4 (silent letters and other irregular rules). By the end, children will know the meaning of over 400 words and be able to read them aloud.
